Social Enterprises

Social enterprises are at the heart of our mission. Through the development of social enterprises, we can build the capacity of our local community and make it a better place in which to live, to grow up and to grow old, to work, to learn and to enjoy recreational activities. Along with the other social enterprises that we are currently operating, we have a number of exciting plans for new initiatives during 2021, including:

  • Rediscover Paint – a partnership with Limerick City and County Council and the Rediscovery Centre that will enable us to recycle leftover paint for use in the community
  • Turner Vinery – this is a mid-19th century structure of historic architectural significance on our site and it is currently in need of major repair and refurbishment. During 2021, we plan to re-erect the roof ironwork using the funds currently available to us and to explore alternative funding options to carry out the remaining work, i.e., glazing, masonry and interior works. Our ultimate aim is to renovate it into a space that will be available for recreational and cultural use.
