Tait House announced as Limerick Chamber awards shortlisted finalists for third time

Tait House Community Enterprise, based in Southill in Limerick city, has today been announced as a shortlisted finalist in this year’s Limerick Chamber Business Awards.

Tait House was shortlisted in the Best Not for Profit category. This is the third occasion that Tait House has been shortlisted for the awards, having been announced as overall winner in 2016.

The Limerick Chamber Business Awards recognise local business and enterprises that have achieved outstanding success in the previous 12 months. Along with event sponsor Limerick Institute of Technology, the awards aim to create a platform for local industry to showcase their accomplishments.

Tait House Community Enterprise is a social enterprise whose mission is to generate enterprise, employment and training opportunities through the provision of services for the people of Limerick based at Collins Avenue, Roxboro Road.

The organisation aims to promote access and involvement of children, young people and adults through practical experience in a wide range of educational, environmental, recreational, social and economic projects focused around empowering people to improve their own lives and the environment in peaceful co-existence.

 

Speaking after today’s announcement, CEO of Tait House Tracey Lynch said: “We are immensely proud to have our organisation recognised once again by Limerick Chamber. The Limerick Chamber Business Awards have proved to be the pinnacle of awards ceremonies in the Limerick region over recent years and to be shortlisted is a recognition of the work done by the superb team we have in Tait House”.

At Tait House our key focus is on collaboration with local and national organisations to drive the development of social enterprise, to create jobs and to help promote the importance of sustainable energy solutions. Being shortlisted today will allow us to continue to develop the strong relationships with have built with many diverse agencies. It will go a long way towards boosting our staff morale and enhancing their pride in being part of what is considered to be a valuable resource, not just for the people of Southill but Limerick as a whole”, she added.

Chairman Jerry O’Dea welcomed today’s shortlist announcement saying: “As Chairman, I have witnessed first-hand the incredible work that is being done at Tait House. Today’s news is testament to this work and all the team at Tait House should be immensely proud”.

Tracey is passionate about sharing her experience and learning to help up-and-coming social entrepreneurs and others to realise their own ambition. The 2019 Awards will be presented at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner on Friday 15th November in the Limerick Strand Hotel.  This event is a celebration of success and highlights business achievements, innovation and excellence in the region.

The winning businesses will demonstrate a commitment to success through innovation, investment expansion, strategic acquisition or service performance that has led to a significant increase in business.
