Tait House Crèche

Tait House Crèche & Afterschool is a community crèche which was established in 1990.

The Crèche caters for children aged 6 months to 5 years. We have 5 rooms including a baby, wobbler, toddler, pre-school and Montessori rooms. All staff are fully trained and engage in ongoing training and development so that they can offer the best service to the children in our care.  We operate the Key Worker system whereby all children are assigned a full-time worker as their main carer. The programme of activities in each room is designed to meet the individual needs of each child. We adapt our curriculum to meet the interests and needs of the children. We are affiliated with Early Childhood Ireland who provide ongoing support and training for all of our staff.

Our pre-school and Montessori children are introduced to the Incredible Years (IY) Programme which is designed to enhance each child’s social and emotional competencies. The purpose of this programme is to promote children’s learning and positive self-esteem through the use of puppets and positive relationship building.

We have three outdoor play areas to offer the widest possible outdoor play experiences to our children. We have a natural play area where children engage in risky play in a safe environment; a soft surface play area with bicycles and slides and a sensory garden including a digging and planting area.

Our HSE-compliant kitchen offers a variety of nutritious
meals and snacks throughout the day and we endeavour to meet any special dietary needs of your child.

Our Afterschool service caters for children from 4 years up to 10 years.  We offer a collection service from a number of local schools. We offer the children a wide variety of learning experiences in the centre so as to help each child reach their full potential.   Our aim is to support each child in their academic endeavours and to enable them to develop their social skills and to have fun!

The programme of activities includes, supervised homework, a hot meal and a light snack, baking, arts and crafts, gardening, computers, outdoor play and sports, a variety of jigsaws, games, construction and dramatic play and time to relax and socialise with friends. Please check with us to see if your child’s school is included.

Our service is registered with Tusla and is fully compliant to all relevant standards and regulations. Copies of certificates and inspection reports are on display and available on request. We are registered with funding programmes such as ECCE and the National Childcare Scheme and can help parents to access these programmes.
